Actress Rakhi Sawant booked by Amravati Police
Published by Rakhi Sawant May 1st, 2007 in NewsA case has been registered against Bollywood actress Rakhi Sawant in Amaravati district of Maharashtra for allegedly hurting the religious sentiments of a particular community.
The case under Section 295 of IPC (injuring, with intent to insult the religion of any class) was registered with Frezarpura Police Station in the district after a group of people staged protest against the actress yesterday.
According to the protesters, Sawant was shown in a bath tub in a TV show against the background of a statue of Lord Buddha.
The protesters also burnt Sawant’s effigy and shouted slogans against her.
No further action has been taken on the matter, Frezarpura police told today.
