Rakhi Sawant to Lead Morcha on Water-logging Problem

Memories of the 26/7 deluge are still fresh in Rakhi Sawant’s mind.

“It was as if the sea had descended into the city. The cars parked in my area were almost floating,” shudders the item girl.

But this time, she has decided to take matters in her own hands.

“I’ll be holding a morcha in front of my building (Serenity Complex) from May 27 to address the water logging problem here. I don’t want to see any flooding this time,” says Rakhi, adding that her society had convinced her to participate in this movement.

“Last year, most kids in this area suffered from malaria because of the stagnant water. Since I have attained a certain fame, I think I’ll be able to help people who need me,” she adds.

Though celebrities often run into controversies when they take up some public cause, Rakhi says she’s determined to succeed in her endeavour.

“I will even go on hunger strike if my demands are not met,” she vows.

Rakhi admits that its the local problem that has forced her to take a stand.

“I am not lucky like Shah Rukh who has a bungalow and can afford to stay cocooned in it. Probably if I had been living in a posh area like Bandra, I wouldn’t have needed to join a morcha like this.”

Dear Rakhee,
I am an office bearer of Shivsena.
I am very proud of you when I saw you leading few peoples from Oshiwara to highlight the issue of water logging problems.
I was very much pleased & very happy for you as you being amchi Marathi mulgi having the sense of civic problems & having an urge to fight for it.
I could see that you were demonstrating for good cause wholeheartedly.
Whatever the world has to say, atleast I am very proud of you for all these feelings towards Mumbaikar.
I hope you will continue to do the same always in future for wellbeing of Mumbaikar’s.
Personally I will support you in all such work.

I saw you on TV news channel and was very much proud of Aamchi Marathi Mulgi.
