He started his career with Cinestar Ki Khoj , an acting talent hunt show, but was noticed for his dancing talent. Fame came to him late and not really because of his work. Meet Abhishek Awasthi, the man who’s better known for his relationship with item girl Rakhi Sawant.

Appearing in a music video with his girlfriend, Abhishek is on a new high these days, “This is the first time we have appeared together onscreen and it was great fun. Our dance and chemistry is so good that it will compel viewers to watch it again and again,” says the young man.

So is he insecure about his more famous girlfriend? “No way,” he declares, “Rakhi is getting what she deserves and she has really struggled hard for it. Honestly, I am really happy with the way her career is shaping up,” quips Abhishek.

Any plans of the two settling down then? “We’re taking time out for our respective careers right now. But whenever I marry Rakhi, it will be in my hometown Kanpur,” he asserts.

Busy working on Himesh Reshammiya’s albums Aashiq Banaya Apne and Tera Suroor , Awasthi is back after a hiatus. “I was busy touring with Himesh Reshammiya and the experience of working for his albums and tours has been very enriching.”

But that not all. He’s getting into acting too. “I have recently signed an English movie called Eyes Wide Open. It’s based on the problems faced by women and will be shot in various parts of India and Dubai. I feel that it will help in establishing me as an actor, besides sending across a message against women’s apathy,” informs Abhishek.
