If you can manage to shut up, the normally verbose Prabhu Chawla on Aaj Tak’s Seedhi Baat, you’ve really got to have the gift of the gab.

In fact Rakhi should seriously consider charging the TV channels for her paisa vasool interviews because we’re sure her sound bytes increase the TRP’s. Chawla was often left gob smacked, as Sawant kept repeating how she was an innocent girl, taken for a ride and that she has the potential to make it big in the industry.

Sawant popped up in Seedhi Baat and batted her eyelashes furiously at Prabhu Chawla all through the show. “Aap bhi, Prabhuji…” she said coyly (accompanied by furious fluttering), and then a little later, “Aap to na, Prabhuji…” (more furious fluttering). Poor Prabhuji tried his best to be his tough interviewer self, but Sawant was unstoppable.

She broke into a dance in the middle of the interview (expectedly), told him that the media was her godfather (”Media ne mujhe banaya hai,” she proclaimed and never was a truer word spoken), that she could act like tragedy queen Meena Kumari, that she was not English padhi-likhi, that she wanted to become a big celebrity, that she loved animals and was very sad that they were being tortured in circuses and that she played squash like Sania Mirza.

She appeared to be totally unfazed by Chawla’s missiles and by the end of the show the tables had turned completely, as she overshadowed the anchor, who, quickly decided to wind up his act.

On the other hand, yet another powerful lady who has been blessed with a sharp tongue is former Tamil Nadu CM, Jayalalithaa who managed to intimidate anchor, Arnab Goswami. And hats off to the lady, she managed to do this without batting an eyelid and used the power of her well-enriched vocabulary to outbeat Smart Alec.

Unlike former Pakistani PM, Benazir Bhutto, who did seem somewhat annoyed with Goswami and her exasperation came through in some of her responses. And yes, the lady sure nurtures ambitions of making it to the centre, and knowing Jayalalithaa this only seems a matter of time.

Meanwhile, on NDTV 24X7, Barkha Dutt, held forth on We the People and this time the topic was euthanasia, a subject that is oft debated and yet one has not been able to arrive at a conclusive decision.
