When Rakhi Sawant barged into office

Rakhi Sawant did a real life Pardesiya last week. The music video for the remix track, which scorched TV screens a couple of years ago, had her cavort into a boardroom and gyrate atop a desk in spandex, fishnet stockings and little else.

But she didn’t indulge the visibly-kicked Maxus employees with her trademark jig (saving it for post-lunch Nach Baliye 3 rehearsals?), and oozed an I’m-not-just-an-item-girl vibe post her I-have-arrived refreshing appearance on talk show Koffee with Karan. However, the stir she created was gift enough.

Excited whispers were exchanged, eager hands were outstretched, camera phones were whipped out, and an entourage of employees happily followed Rakhi on an office darshan.

Rakhi was happy to share the spotlight with Maxus business manager Shawn Chandy, who clinched our contest.

More chuffed than nervous, Shawn said his “mad” co-workers had begun ragging him two evenings ago.

“They’ve been driving me nuts, especially Rajendra,” he mock-yelped, handing you a soft copy of the “ticket” that his colleague had created, before rushing off to share cheesy pizza, garlic bread and diet cola with the “prize” herself.

“It was pretty cool to meet her in person.

She is bold, sassy, speaks her mind and isn’t embarrassed about not being proficient in English,” declared Shawn, admitting to have turned into a huge Rakhi fan, post her appearance on reality show Bigg Boss.
