The grand finale of Sahara One’s Biggest Loser Jeetega will be hosted by Mandira Bedi. To spice up the evening that starts at 8 pm, on September 1, the channel has roped in Esha Deol, Rakhi Sawant and Suniel Shetty.
Besides the stars, thirteen eliminated contestants of the show will perform on a six-song medley.

The competing finalists Sandeep-Natasha-Hiren will also join in the songs and dance sequence. Says Sandeep Sachdev, “Like always, I am totally charged up and very focussed for the finals.

Infact, I am looking forward to the big day since the time I have returned home.” Natasha Grover is the only girl to be among the top three finalists and proudly declares, “Girl power never fails. I am proud of my hard work and for being the only girl to reach the finals.

I am on a winning trail.” An excited third finalist Hiren Bhawsar says, “After having a life altering experience at Amby Valley, reaching the finals is a dream come true. I am working hard and looking forward to winning the competition.”

Swapnil’s eye-opener

Swapnil Joshi, the other contendor for the title in Comedy Circus is happy to be competing with Ali “who’s a good friend”. According to him, the fact that he has reached the final is a victory in itself.

“Now it is like one-day cricket. Whoever performs best on the day will score the highest,” he philosophises. The show, Swapnil says, has been an eye-opener for him.

“I have seen all kinds of things happening on the show including politics and ruthlessness. Believe me every contestant is like a jawan on the border!” he exclaims.

Not surprising really because Swapnil was victimised when fellow contestants eliminated him and his partner VIP from the show. “They were feeling insecure which is why they threw us out,” declares the actor. He, however, came back with a bang through a wild card entry.

“The chakka act we did in our comeback episode earned us full marks and the crowd gave us a four-minute standing ovation.

It was the happiest and a highly emotional moment for me,” remembers Swapnil. For an actor who’s never done stand-up comedy before, Swapnil feels strongly that one should do a reality show like Comedy Circus every three years only to “reinvent oneself”.

What’s more the show has also opened the doors for a new genre of comedy for Swapnil who has bagged another sitcom on the lines of a stand-up comedy, the details of which are still being finalised.

Zee’s Betiyaan races ahead

Creative Eye Ltd, producer of Zee’s Betiyaan has acheived the distinction of being the No 1 show within nine months of its launch as per the latest TAM ratings.

The programme has achieved the TRP of 5.00 in the week ending. It is ranked at no. 3 position in all the general entertainment channel category.

When contacted, Dheeraj Kumar, CMD, Creative Eye Ltd, was overjoyed, “It shows that people relate to those serials that present real issues. I feel even if you take one issue from the charter of the government of India and make a entertaining serial around it, people will relate with it.

” Currently, the company has around four shows on air and is planning to increase its hours of production from the current level of five-and-a-half hour to eight- and-a-half hour per week in the current year with non-fiction shows, soaps and sitcoms.
