I will not cry: Rakhi Sawant

9 x joins the reality bandwagon with ‘Yeh Hai Jalwa’. This show would provide a platform that would be shared by the celebrity and the common people together. 9 mega stars and Rakhi Sawant being one among them, would lead 45 people from all walks of life. With just one aim: To be the ‘Ultimate Dance Team’ in a frenzy of pure dance and entertainment!
A little birdie tells us that Rakhi is already miffed about having children on her team. Our source says, “Rakhi feels and empathises for children who she feels should not go through the stress of having to perform in a reality show.” That’s a side of our Rakhi that we didn’t know. Apart from this, there is a lot more to know about Rakhi, when she talks about the show…
About ‘Yeh Hai Jalwa…’
Yeh Hai Jalwa is a unique concept. I love reality shows and I enjoy being on reality much more than on fiction shows. The concept of the show is different, there would be real drama on the show and there would be no retakes, which is challenging. All of us will be provided with just one chance to prove our dancing skills.
What made you sign on this show? Your expectations from the show…
I wanted to do something different, when the concept was narrated to me, it caught my attention and I agreed instantly. I expect to have fun and enjoy with kids.. Whether I lose or win is insignificant. One more thing, I have promised myself that no matter what the decision would be, I will not cry.
About your team members…
The team selection was good – We had lots of fun selecting the team. Children were so talkative, innocent and eager to learn. During the auditions I was quite nervous about how they would face rejection, but kids just handled it fine. They are so chilled that I feel like bundle of nerves when I am with them.
What worries me is that with the exams being round the corner, I don’t want to disturb their studies. For my team, studies will be important and I wouldn’t want them to divert their attention.
A Dance reality show, what do you think will be the USP of the show? Your POA?
The concept of the show is the USP, personally I think there should have been jury on the show but then absence of jury only makes it challenging plus we don’t have to be kind and pleasing to anyone. I firmly believe that the audiences know the best.
The show has no jury- what is your take on that?
Oh that’s such a relief..no longer need to have the anxiety of who will say what and how to take it.. The audience would be voting through SMS and would decide who the winner would be. Though we will miss the constructive criticism of the jury which could help us better our performances.
Who would be your strongest competition on the show?
All of them. I am not going to take it easy, competition is tough. I have made a promise to my audience that they would never see me crying. I cried a lot last year but this year no tears for me. I take my competition seriously and would try my best.
