Item girl Rakhi Sawant on Thursday appeared before a local court in connection with an ‘obscene dance show’, hosted by her on May 18 in Kolhapur. However, the chief judicial magistrate did not announce any judgement since another accused in the case has filed a revision petition in the district sessions court.

Rakhi Sawant, responding to a court summons, remained present before the court on Thursday. But another accused, Gaurav Thakkar who had organised the dance show in Kolhapur on May 18, filed a revision petition in the sessions court challenging the charges against him. The case, therefore, will be heard by a sessions court now.

Severe objections were raised to Rakhi Sawant’s dance show in Kolhapur on May 18 which was described as ‘obscene and indecent’ by many local organisations.

Police had registered a case against Rakhi Sawant and Gaurav Thakkar and the latter was arresed immediately and released on bail.

But Rakhi Sawant had left for Sangli to perform a show there. The court had issued summons asking her to remain present before it on July 20. Rakhi Sawant had failed to appear before the court then but had sent an apology through her lawyer.
