Rakhi Sawant sure knows how to stay in news. After the kiss controversy, now the item girl is in news for confessing her love for good friend and choreographer Abhishek Awasthi on reality TV. What many people don’t know is that Abhishek is a Kanpur lad and that his mother still lives here.
Kanpur Times spoke to the object of Rakhi’s affection.

Pyar toh hona hi tha!
“i was always confident that one day Rakhi would realise how much i love her. i am on cloud nine right now. But marriage is not on the cards for the next three years at least,” he says.

A family girl
“My family has met Rakhi when she came to Kanpur once and really loved her. She met them as if she’s known them for years. She’s very jovial. She knows how to respect elders. i find all the qualities of a good homemaker in Rakhi. She prepares good food. During Ganpati Mahotsav, she whips up some great dishes and mithai.
Rakhi is straightforward and speaks her mind. She doesn’t believe in faking in order to win more fans and that’s what i like about her.”

Shaadi ke baad
Post marriage, we don’t plan to shift to Kanpur, because our profession demands us to be in Mumbai. i’m a Brahmin, but i have no problem accepting a Marathi girl nor do my parents because they trust me and would support my decision.

Yeh uski life hai!
i would never intrude in her professional life and she’ll be free to do what she wants to after marriage as well. Till now she has been taking all her career related decisions on her own and she will continue to do so. i would counsel and advise her, like i do now, but the final decision would be her own.
