I’ve forgiven Mika, Abhishek & Elesh: Rakhi
The unstoppable Rakhi Sawant is definitely controversy’s favourite child. Apart from doing item numbers, reality shows and shooting her mouth off, she has now turned businesswoman! Rakhi has now launched beauty lounges, while a production house, a spa and recording studio are in the pipeline. Excerpts from an interview.
You have turned businesswoman.
Yes, this had been my dream project. I always dreamt of sharing my beauty secrets with women across the country. There are many who want to look like me.
We’ve heard that you have plans of starting a production house and a recording studio. What kind of shows are you coming up with?
Yes, I’m starting my production house, but I can’t talk about my recording studio yet. My production house will produce good shows that will change the face of Indian television. I know what people want. I will be involved in every process — casting, scripting etc. Look at the kind of shows on TV today. Some of them are totally bakwaas. Women are always projected as docile creatures crying in a corner. Through my shows I will make people realise the strength of women. She will not tolerate injustice from her husband or in-laws. Women want to be bindaas and brave like me in real life. In my shows, the women will be like me — confident and outspoken.
You are keen to produce a show on the Bible.
I’m in talks with a few channels . I’m keen on this and have put my heart into it.
Will you produce films too?
I will produce everything — reality shows, soap operas, films, music videos. Everything I do will be urban and trendy. No gaon ki ladki for me please. For TRPs’ sake, these days shows are made with village belles in focus. My shows will be about achievers.
How will you manage your showbiz career and business ventures?
I’m a multi-tasker. I have worked very hard to get where I am today and no matter what, I will never leave the film industry. After struggling all these years, I am finally getting my due. And I’m enjoying it. Jesus is with me always. He has opened a lot of doors for me. I am a strong and capable woman.
Recently you patched up with your mom …
I have forgiven my mom. Jesus asked me to forgive and I have forgiven a lot people —Mika, Abhishek, Elesh and Kashmera. May God bless her and give her brains.
But some don’t spare a chance to talk about you.
People keep throwing stones at a tree which bears fruit. I am like the tree that bears fruit. Jesus has taught me to forgive and forget. I don’t talk negatively about anyone and I’m at peace with myself.
Any plans to marry?
I’ll get married either by the end of this year or next year. I’m praying to Jesus and he always listens to me. I prayed for my business venture and I succeeded, I wanted a house and I got that. Now I’m hopeful of tying the knot soon, but it will be through a swayamvar. I don’t mind giving it a shot again. My wedding will be a lavish affair and the world will know that Rakhi is tying the knot.
