But the singer from Punjab, Mika Singh, has no regrets. “I am glad to see that the media has reported the incident rightly.

Rakhi has got publicity through the incident, but such negative publicity doesn’t help in the long run,” says the singer. Mika refutes Rakhi’s allegations, and adds that he had never even kissed any of his three girlfriends.

“I don’t know how to kiss on the mouth. Just like I can’t smoke or chew paan. Baaki sab karta hoon par kiss nahin karta,” said Mika.

He said his aversion to kissing stemmed from a piece of advice he’d received as a teenager. “When I was 16, I was told that kissing could give me a throat infection,” explained Mika, in the capital for a performance with brother Daler Mehndi.

Claiming that he organised community wedding of 600 couples, Mika says it is against his nature to insult women. Snogging apart, Mika is also crying himself hoarse over playback singing. “I have become a star living in Delhi and not after shifting base to Mumbai.

I’m happy doing stage shows. It is a true test of an artist. Anyone can become a good singer in the studio. I will only do playback if my friends in Bollywood call me.”

The younger brother of Daler Mehndi, Mika is happy performing alongside his elder brother on stage shows. In the era of talent hunt contests, Mika does a kiss and tell. “Some of the contests are good. One major flaw of these contests is that these winners burn out after a while.

Struggle makes a star. But these talent hunt winner have it down pat.” With albums like Guitar and Gabru under his belt, Mika still does his riyaaz. Mika likes living life to the full.

Does that mean that he is seeing someone? “Pata nahin. But I was dating someone from Delhi. But she was in a hurry to get married. So, she left me to marry someone else,” adds Mika.
