Regular readers of my blog posts surely by now must be well acquainted with my growing fondness for india’s bestest item Girl, Ms. Rakhi Sawant. Be it her dance-jathkas, fiery interviews, canny publicity stunts or the Mika-Kissing episode - i think this woman totally rocks! (Yaar! Stop laughing, i really mean it).

If you have been watching Bigg Boss , the reality show on Sony India, you will be surprised at the new twist. Bigg Boss is the Indianised version of the hit reality show Big Brother.

Celebrity item girls Rakhi Sawant and Kashmeera Shah have been best pals from the first day. Kashmira Shah has been busy plotting against others and is always busy instilling hatred among her fellow contestants. She succesfully plotted and has been successful in getting Rupali Ganguli nominated to be evicted out of the show. Rupali and model Anupama Verma have already been involved in a verbal duel.

Rakhi Sawant who is seen in short skimpy clothes 24 hours of the show, seems to have her head in the right place. Even though she is seen having a great time with her seemingly close friend Kashmira, during last night’s secret nominations, Rakhi voted for Kashmira Shah to be evicted. This proved that Rakhi is aware of the plots Mrs. Shah is plotting and does not approve Shah’s plans. Kashmira on the other hand has been planning for the show and researched the show well. The specialty about this new album lies in the fact that apart from performing, she will also sing in this album. Be it Paul Di’Anno, Ram Jethmalani, Rakhi Sawant, Mika, Abhijeet or Bappi Lahiri - all of them have either made the media its favourite punching bag or at least, duped it to ensure that they or their projects remain in the news.

Some, later apologise for abusing the fourth estate. Others, simply recede to the background asking for time to’reconsider’ their position. Shillong is still reeling under a shock recently when Di’Anno at a concert had yelled at the media. “Up yours,” Di’Anno had yelled at a bewildered fourth estate, his menacing middle finger leaving nothing to imagination, during his recent concert in Shillong. The petition of Jethmalani, the lawyer for Jessica case accused Manu Sharma, seeking action against TOI for alleged contempt of court as well as for a different Bench to hear the sensational murder case was dismissed on Tuesday by Delhi High Court.

Rakhi Sawant and Mika abused each other on print and small screen till they had reached almost a saturation point of publicity mongering. Finally, on a recent television programme both Rakhi and Mika apologised, making it eminently evident that the two had taken the media for a ride. Mika said he would do whatever Rakhi’s mother asked him to while Rakhi demurely said that it was she and not her mother who had been insulted by the whole episode. The two good old friends who had only recently quarreled and filed an FIR have made up with each other, courtesy a common friend. These friends are none other than two artists of the entertainment sector. Rakhi Sawant known for doing item numbers in the scantiest of clothes and Mika a Punjabi pop singer had a tiff not in the distant past over Mika kissing Rakhi at his birthday bash a few months back.

Rakhi sought an apology from Mika for the latter’s indecent behavior but the former didn’t oblige. The matter hang on until recently when a common friend Shashi Ranjan brought Rakhi and Mika together in his show ‘Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai’ without Rakhi’s knowledge and asked them to patch up. Shashi impressed on both the quarrelling actors the need to practice what the show meant by discussing the history of a celebrity.

The matter didn’t end here; Mika sang a song for Rakhi and thus apologized to her. The show was soon aired, giving relief to those who admire each as well as both. Meanwhile, Rakhi Sawant has landed herself in trouble with a criminal complaint about an ‘obscene’ performance in Bihar. Item girl Rakhi Sawant loves to be in news all the time and nowadays for some good reasons. After being featured in some music albums Rakhi is all set to launch her new album. An interesting fact about this album is that she will not only perform but she will also sing for it.

According to a source from the music industry, “Rakhi is planning to launch her first album soon. She has recently recorded a song for her own album.� However, Rakhi is currently tied up with the biggest reality television show Big Boss and was unavailable for any comment. Rakhi has managed to fetch some audience through her performance. Let’s hope she creates the same magic from her voice.

A local court on Monday admitted a criminal complaint against Bollywood ‘item girl’ Rakhi Sawant, recently involved in a kissing row with pop singer Mika, charging her with obscene performance at a show here on October 28.

Chief Judicial Magistrate (Patna) Sushma Sinha admitted the complaint filed by advocate Sruti Singh and transferred the case to the court of Shahaab Kausher, a magistrate, for further hearing to be taken up on November 10.

In her complaint, Singh alleged Rakhi’s performance here on October 28 violated the Indecent Representation of Women (Prevention) Act of 1985 and the Domestic Violence Law for women that came into effect from October 27. Continue reading ‘Criminal case filed against Rakhi Sawant’
