‘I wanted to cast myself in Rakhi Sawant’s role’
0 Comments Published by Rakhi Sawant August 19th, 2007 in NewsWhat inspired you to make Buddha Mar Gaya?
I’ve wanted to make it for the last three years. There was a point when cinema halls wouldn’t run such a film. Thanks to the multiplex boom, the scenario has changed.
Also (the production banner) Eros was excited to back my film which is only 94 minutes long. It’s a black comedy but at times, I do worry - I hope I’m not the only one who finds it funny. It’s all about a completely dysfunctional family.
Don’t you think prominent stars would have helped to pull in the crowds?
It would have been ridiculous to bank on star value. I haven’t included romance and songs because both those elements would have spoilt the flavour of the comedy. Continue reading ‘‘I wanted to cast myself in Rakhi Sawant’s role’’
I can romance Shah Rukh Khan: Rakhi Sawant
1 Comment Published by Rakhi Sawant August 17th, 2007 in NewsKnown for her bindas quotes and spicy remarks, Rakhi Sawant sets the mood for her latest release Buddha Mar Gaya. Princy Jain chats up the item girl.
How was it working with several senior actors in Buddha Mar Gaya?
Oh god, I had a tough time handling these buddhas. Rahulji (Rawail) gave me such bold outfits. And the oldies would stare at my cleavage more than my face. Continue reading ‘I can romance Shah Rukh Khan: Rakhi Sawant’
Rakhi Sawant has found her ‘real’ calling in life. “I want to be a full-fleshed social activist,” she says. Er… what was that again? It may take a minute to understand but what she really means is a full-fledged social activist.
“Yes, that’s my dream. Mujhe unki awaaz banna hai jo musibat main hain aur un sab logno ko sabak sikhana hai jo galat kaam kar rahe hain ,” she says.
And what happened to the screen siren, the motor-mouth? You don’t have to wait for too long to see the ‘real’ Rakhi. Continue reading ‘Rakhi Sawant, the social activist’
‘I am not interested in being a heroine’ - Rakhi Sawant
0 Comments Published by Rakhi Sawant August 12th, 2007 in NewsShe has been tagged as controversy’s favoured child and the hottest bombshell, but there’s no denying that it was a mean struggle for Rakhi Sawant to rise from the ashes.
Buy it or chuck it, today ‘Rakhi Sawant’ is a very much a house hold name, in fact she’s become a brand entity in her own right.
Now that lady luck is finally shinning on this fireball (no pun intended), she’s making hay while the sun is blazing. Not only is she being floored A grade offers, she’s also has to her credit her pop album, Super Girl.
And the icing on the cake is her latest film, Buddha Mar Gaya, where she gets to play a pivotal and meaty role for the first time ever! Continue reading ‘‘I am not interested in being a heroine’ - Rakhi Sawant’
Since her appearance on Koffee with Karan, Rakhi is fast shedding her image of a crass silicone propped item girl and emerging as a main stream Bollywood actress.
The 29 year old daughter of a Mumbai policeman, whose real name is Neeru Sawant has bagged an item number in Rakesh Roshan’s comedy thriller Krazy 4. Continue reading ‘Rakhi Sawant to sizzle in Krazy 4′
We’ve seen her in all possible avatars. As a hot item girl in blink-and-you-miss-them clothes, in tied-back hair, sporting a salwar kameez and spectacles, as a vamp in a fashion show and even here, at this filmi do at a multiplex in Mumbai, Rakhi Sawant looked different in person than what she looks in her latest film.
And to make the difference more evident, she stood in her straightened hair and tight, metallic gold off-shouldered dress next to a lifesize cutout of herself in curly hair. Continue reading ‘The real Rakhi!’
Rakhi Sawant who was in Hyderabad for the shooting of Rahul Rawail’s ‘Budha Mil Gaya’ burnt her lower back on the sets while shooting for a song in a graveyard.
It was reported that the gutsy babe didn’t delay the shoot, as she changed her costumes and got back to work!
Although nobody except the unit members of the movie know how she got her a** on fire.
Item girls from Bollywood are more visible in Kannada films these days. The latest bombshell to go south is Rakhi Sawant [Images], who will be seen in an item number in Geleya, starring young stars Prajwal and Tharun. The Kannada movie is choreographer Harsha’s directorial debut.
Rakhi’s dance with Prajwal was shot on eight different sets involving costumes changes for each set which has made it one of the costliest songs to be picturised in Kannada cinema, says Harsha who also choreographed the dance. Continue reading ‘Rakhi Sawant’s item number in Kannada’
