Rakhi Sawant, who has appeared in 6 Teens and Utsaham, is coming back to Telugu films after a long break in a film produced by D.S. Rao with debutant director Tammalapati Srinivasa Kumar starring Nitin as hero. Shooting for this untitled movie is going on at Rama Naidu Cine Village.

Rakhi Sawant, who is doing an item number in the film, says, “I visit Hyderabad for shootings and for corporate shows. I like the Hyderabadi cuisine.”

The actress who was in the city recently to complete her item number for the Nitin-starrer Drona (tentatively titled) talks to Hyderabad Times about her first Tollywood experience and a recent bizarre incident.

How was your first Tollywood experience?

South Indian films are not new to me. I have done a Tamil movie Mumbai Express with Kamal Haasan and also a Kannada movie. This is my first brush with Tollywood and I am impressed with the professionalism here. People here do what they say and they do not cheat people. Also, this is my second film with Kelly Dorjee and it was a beautiful experience. I am a regular to Hyderabad. The people here are very good and I simply love the food. Bollywood item girl Sambhavna Seth claims she is a better dancer than the popular Rakhi Sawant.

Sambhavna, who came to limelight with her dancing skills in 36 China Town, Sauda, Paagalpan and Kaafila, said she is a hundred percent better dancer than Rakhi.

tem girl Rakhi Sawant has gyrated to a special song for a film which is apparently based on the life of Abdul Rahim Telgi. Titled MUDRANK - THE STAMP, the film has been completed and is now ready for release.

Even though the film is centered on the life of Telgi, it features Rakhi Sawant as the center of film’s promotion with majority of cut outs, billboards and other publicity material boasting of ‘Rakhi Sawant in the hottest item number’.

Item girl Rakhi Sawant’s real life character has inspired filmmaker Shashi Ranjan who has adapted her character in his forthcoming film Dhoom Dadakka .

Dhoom Dadakka is a comic flick and a story of six mad characters. One of the characters is called Shivani Sawant which is very much similar to that of item girl Rakhi Sawant. Arati plays that role and is an item girl in the film.
