At the Big Stars Entertainment Award event, when the hottie’s opinion was asked about Chikni Chameli she remarked that the song is very good and went on to stress that Katrina indeed has danced well. “But nothing is new, because I’ve already done such songs before. You just go through all my songs, I have done all the steps earlier; full rapchik dance,” remarked Rakhi in her usual sarcastic style.

Talking about Katrina’s moves, Ms. Sawant referred to her own dance steps in “Dekhta Hai Tu Kya” song and said that Katrina did same in “Sheila”. “And again now in Chikni Chameli” she is following me. I think Katrina likes me a lot!” stated Rakhi.

Well, well, well we got the point, Sawantji…. But we can smell the smoke…

An FIR was lodged against her at Prem Nagar police station in Jhansi last year in connection with the death of Laxman Ahirwar who had appeared on ” Rakhi Ka Insaaf”, hosted by Rakhi Sawant. In the complaint which Laxman’s mother had filed, Rakhi was blamed for making insulting remarks against Laxman, which instigated to him commit suicide.

Going by what was mentioned in the petition, the Jhansi judicial magistrate, via an order dated November 10, 2011, had issued summons in a criminal case against the actor. While granting time to the state government to file a response in the case, the court ordered to list the case after six weeks for hearing.

When we contacted Gopal Chaturvedi, senior advocate, Allahabad High Court, he said, “The case relates to Rakhi sawant having used the word ‘namard’ on her show “Rakhi ka insaaf” for Lakshman from Jhansi. Her mother, Savitri had filed a criminal case against Rakhi after Lakshman died alleging that he died on account of being grief- stricken and having been insulted publicly. On a petition filed by Rakhi, Justice BK Narain has ordered not to take any coercive action against Rakhi and the others who are accused. And the state has been given the time to file a counter affidavit till January”.

Here’s why, ‘I think ‘Chikni Chameli’ is a good song. Katrina has danced very well but it’s not something new. I have already done all this before. You can watch all my songs, I have already done that. It seems Katrina really likes me, it’s alright if someone wants to follow me and dance.’ Rakhi said.

Ever since ‘Munni Badnam Hui’ and ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’ become huge hits, Rakhi has been feeling tremendously insecure with herself. To make matters worse, her rival Mallika Sherawat was also bagging a few of her own item songs.

It’s fair to say, Rakhi knows all the moves and has the attitude to deliver a successful item song, but today’s filmmakers are keen to take on leading ladies like, Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor and Deepika Padukone as item girls.

Is Rakhi Sawant’s item girl charm slowly fading away?

“I haven’t seen anybody more irresponsible than her. She goes into hiding like a Gaddafi saying she’s unwell. You only go into hiding if you are guilty. She is fooling the whole world. The whole industry knows that she is married and now, she is in a live-in relationship with Ashmit Patel. I haven’t heard of any man wanting to marry a married woman, and who’s living in with another man. I want to know where these contestants (grooms) are coming from,” asks Rakhi.

The reality show winner says that she has learnt from her sources that Veena got married when she was in Pakistan and there has been no word ever since about her divorce.

“You just need to see the reports that have come out in Pakistan. They mention that she got married to a Pakistani man. Regarding her live-in relationship, there is even a more solid proof with me. The legal notice that was sent to a magazine when they published her nude images (a copy of which is with DNA), the home address that was mentioned there was in fact Ashmit’s home. So, she’s not only living in with Ashmit at the moment, she has also used his address as his home address in court documents,” informs Rakhi adding, “And a woman like that is getting married on television.”

Rakhi also alleges that Veena is completely aware of the publicity stunts. “She goes missing and then calls a press conference to declare that she has been found with a press conference that reads, ‘cocktails to be served’. What is she trying to say with that? That we raise a toast because she’s been found?” rages Rakhi.

Stand up comedian Bharti Singh was at the receiving end of Rakhi’s unique brand of insaaf at the Zee Rishtey 2011 recently.

An eyewitness revealed, “”Bharti was in her ‘Udi Baba’ element for the event and was taking potshots at every possible celebrity, when Rakhi’s turn came, Singh said, ‘Rakhi logon ki shaadiyon mein dance karti hai. Ek shaadi mein baraat mein dance kar rahi thi aur dulhe ke jija ne bola ki waah Rakhi kya dance kiya! Toh Rakhi boli, dance nahi, mere skirt mein cockroach ghus gaya tha’.

People are either busy making spoofs on me or having fun at my expense and I have had enough of that. I had gone there for the channel and a few friends. I least expected this to happen. However, what Bharti did was uncalled for and I am no saas-bahu saga’s coy bahu, who would take such insults lying down.”"

She has only one wish: “Mahek Chahal should win Bigg Boss this year. Aur main chahti hoon ki uska Swayamwar bhi ho!”

Ask her why and she shoots, “Mahek is an item girl just like me, so I identify with her. She is beautiful and talented. She is a good dancer and has the oomph factor. We almost started our careers together, so I have a soft corner for her and can’t see her lose.”

We do not know about others, but Mahek’s good friend Salman Khan, who seems to have vowed to help Mahek win this season, would surely be happy with Rakhi for supporting her.

Member of Parliament and General Secretary of the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee, Dr Nilesh Rane said, “There are a lot of talented, bold and even controversial Indian artistes who are struggling to make ends meet. I think they should be given a fair chance.

I am speaking in my personal capacity and this is my personal view not party view. However, if there is any sort of agitation by the IAAF, I will give them my full support and stand by them.” Rane who is the elder son of Maharashtra Industries minister Narayan Rane came out very strongly against the policy of Tv channels of paying such astronomical sums to persons who probably didn’t deserve the money. “We have so many poor, struggling yet talented actors, singers and artistes. What are the Tv channels doing to promote and support them,” he asked?

Says Rakhi Sawant, “They (the channel and the production house SOL) could have selected any other woman from India. There are so many controversial or bold and outspoken girls like Sambhavna Seth, Kashmira Shah, Dj Jenny D, Poonam Pandey to name a few.

Imagine should have chosen them. There are thousands of girls in India who are trying to get roles in films and Tv. Why have they selected a “sattebaaz” who has ruined the name of her own country? Once was probably ok, but now they are doing it again and again. I strongly condemn this move and join the protest.”

Flynn Remedios, publicist and spokesperson for the IAAF said that the IAAF an informal body of actors and artistes is not against one individual in particular. “We are not against Veena Malik per se. We are against this trend of selecting foreign artistes for common roles in Indian television and films. When certain politicians raised their voice about this, we gave them the cold shoulder, but now the time has come for every Indian artiste to get up and take a stand. Thousands of Indian girls go through hell trying to get a bit role in a TV serial or a film. These production houses and channels must understand the sentiments and feelings of thousands of Indian artistes. Veena Malik is no great or unique actor or artiste. Sunny Leone is a porn star. What USP do Veena Malik and Sunny Leone bring to such shows? Are we trying to send out a message to our youth that being a porn star is a commendable thing?

The channels are trying to stir up controversy and increase their own TRPs. We will ask all patriotic Indians and Indian companies to stop watching or supporting such shows This is our action plan for now. We will also approach the courts at a later date if the channels do not relent.”

The item girl, who hogged newsprint with her attempts to reach Anna Hazare recently, strongly feels that “saadhu-mahatma” (spiritual gurus) should not be part of controversial shows like Bigg Boss.

She told HindustanTimes.com, “Swami Agnivesh shouldn’t have done Bigg Boss. He is a sanyasi. He should not spoil his reputation by appearing on these kinds of shows. Two days anyway were insufficient for him to even attempt to make any change in the house. How can he be of any help to housemates? Only God can help them. Wo nahi sudhar sakte (They cannot mend their ways).”

‘Bigg Boss should be banned’
The controversy spinner who was part of the first season of Bigg Boss is aghast with the fights and gaalis in the show now. “Forget about kids, Bigg Boss is not even fit for adult viewers. I don’t understand why housemates fight and swear so much. It’s strange that objections were raised on my show (Rakhi Ka Insaaf), and not Bigg Boss, where people give maa-behen ki gaalis (expletives). Nobody has the guts to ban the show.”

‘Veena Malik not welcome in India’
The reality TV star who also did the first season of Swayamvar is against Veena Malik doing the current season of the show. And she justifies her protest saying, “I don’t think she should have been signed for Swayamvar. She’s a Pakistani girl and who in India would like to make her bahu. She should go to Pakistan and do a swayamvar there. People would not welcome her here.”

“I have been offered so many Pakistani shows. But I have never given my assent to any of the programmes. I am happy starring in Bollywood and Kollywood,” she avers.

Then who according to her should be part of next Swayamvar. Pat comes the reply, “Mika is a bacherlor, he’s an ideal choice. Rahul Gandhi is also a good option. I feel, Baba Ramdev should also conduct his swayamvar.”

Wonder what babaji would say to that?
